Question by satan h: When you buy a CD do you pay attention to who wrote the songs you like?
or do you just by pass the credits
I have written many songs, that have been recorded by some well know recording artist ,and most of my songs have hit the charts
as a song writer (soon to be a recoding artist) my point of view is different then what yours might be . For the most part us songwriters dont get the credit we deserve, until the major record labels put us on contract as recording artist .
For the most part our first few songs are reliest by well known musicians, in Hopes that we get our names out there, so when we do record our first album, we have already made a name for our selfs.
With so many people down loading and burning now adays, nobody knows who we are.
For the most part the well knowens get the creadit for our songs.
We remain unknowen until the record lables release us as singer/songwriters.
Do you think it is fair, that us songwriters dont get the creadit we deserve, (with down loading and burnin we dont get our royalites or the creadit )?
The purpose of this question is not for the intent of a whine fest on my part
but to shed some light on the effects of people down loading and burning
and yes us songwriters get 50% off the top of any royalites 25% to the publisher 15% to the record lable and 10% to the recording artist . So yes we do get our 50% before anyone elts sees a dime.
simpley we get the mony the artist get the glory
