Q&A: What would be a good name for this story?

Question by ~Cant Do Homework~: What would be a good name for this story?
It’s about 2 guys who had been rivals about 7yrs ago. Both of them are extremely rich heirs, but 7yrs before the main story starts, one of the guys(lets call him guy1), Guy1’s family only started to become rich through gambling, and started their own hotel bussiness which soon became one of Guy2’s family’s interest in buying the bussiness. But ofcourse Guy1’s family refused and so Guy2’s family burned down their vacation house, where they were spending the summer. The rest of Guy1’s family died except for Guy1, who was raised buy one of his dad’s friends. The hotel was left to him, and the rest of the money. Then 7 years later, Guy1’s foster dad got into the idea of him working with the famous music artist, Guy2. The contract was signed without Guy1 or Guy2 knowing about the idea. Guy1 was awesome during their first concert, and the crowd cheered only for Guy1. Guy2 drops out of his music career and finds this girl who wasnt enjoying his concert. Soon, they got together, but what Guy2 didn’t know was that, she was Guy1’s first love, from 7yrs ago, before the whole rivalry happened. But Guy1 had to leave her behind to take over the Hotel Bussiness from his family. Guy1 finds her again, with Guy2, then a whole dramatic scene happens between Guy1 and guy2, about how Guy2 had to give up his music career for him, and now its his girl that Guy1 is trying to steal, and that the girl is the only thing he had left. Guy1 drops out of the music bussiness aswell, and they fight over the girl, until she had enough of her heart being so confused on which to love, they guy who loved her and ditched her for money, or the guy that she didn’t have much history with, after 2 more years of the love war, she commited suicide, and guy1 and guy2 started to fight and say that it was each other’s fault. Then Guy1 falls in-love with Guy2’s sister but Guy2 tries to get his sister away from harm…

That all i got…

Wow that was a little hard to follow haha.

What I would do is find a reoccuring theme in the story and use it as a title. For example, in “To Kill a Mockingbird”, the story isn’t literally about mockingbirds but it is a reoccuring theme in the story and is represented by the black population and the way they have been treated.

If you don’t have a reoccuring theme in the story, you could make one. Or if you just don’t like that idea then you could try something else.

Try giving your story a thesis. Or write the summary that usually goes on the back of a book. Perhaps that will give you ideas.

Or choose something the story centers around. It sounds like it centers around rivalry, so perhaps try ‘The Rivalry’ or something like that. You could use a thesaurus also, so instead of ‘Rivalry’ you could call it ‘Antagonism’, ‘The Antagonists’, ‘Tug-of-War’, ‘7 Years Struggle’, etc.

Hope I gave you a few ideas. Good luck!
