Q&A: What kind of jobs can my friend get that are related to his transportation and customer service experiences?
Question by electrical engineer: What kind of jobs can my friend get that are related to his transportation and customer service experiences?
He has experience in tour bus driving, operation, dispatching, and customer service. He has also worked for college recruiting and as a music instructor. He is interested in working in a fast paced environment, in a sales or marketing related positions. However, his sales and marketing experiences are limited. Personality-wise he is a high energy person who loves to work with customers and doesn’t mind traveling locally to serve them. He is open to all types of industries.
I am thinking a job that’s related to distribution (companies that distribute products to customers) would be a good way to start, but any ideas from you guys would be great. Thanks!

I think you have already figured this out. The distribution jobs can lead to the quickest advancement. Go to the “commercial” district nearest you. One guy who drove for a granite business now runs the showroom where people come to select the granite for their kitchen countertops. Sometimes he drives the granite to their house and waves goodbye when it’s installed. He helped them pick it, receive it, install it and they loved him.
What about you? What are you doing? Would your boss hire your friend?
