I’ve read that it’s now illegal for people to host a super bowl party for like 6 or more people if they don’t purchase the rights to do so from the NFL. I’ve also read that playing music too loud can be interpreted as piracy, due to people being able to record your music. I’ve also read that if you buy music from an online music store, sync it to your iPod, and then sell your iPod with the music on it, you’re supporting piracy because the purchaser didn’t “buy” the music. Finally, I’ve also researched the software issues with piracy, primarily regarding building a Hackintosh. Apple’s EULA states that the software can only be installed on an Apple Labled Computer. So that makes me think, if you buy the software and buy an official Apple Logo Sticker, how is that piracy? I would like to hear people’s thoughts/comments on piracy digital media and software piracy.

I’ve also read that playing music too loud can be interpreted as piracy, due to people being able to record your music. – No one will want terrible quality music…not piracy just irritating

The Apple thing is ridiculous…thats not pirating, once you purchase property you can do what you want with it. If you bought the mac parts and the mac software you can do what you want with it. All apple can do is void any warranties they might have put on it, they cant make you not do that
In general i think that most people should just go get a job and spend money if they want to enjoy something people worked on. Don’t get me wrong i pirate enough as it is the lower income movies from Hollywood…but honestly i spent over 500$ on movies between me and my girlfriend in 2007 going to the theaters. I think I spend more than most do and as such i should be entitled to a download or 2 every month or so to keep up on current movies like the love guru or that stupid hell ride movie that came out. I wish i didn’t waste the time to download it almost it was that bad lol.
my opinion? people shouldn’t be cheap bitches and just fork up the 10$ for a cd/dvd…and on that note cds and dvds should be only 10$ , there would be fewer people cheating the system if the system wasn’t ridiculous
