Question by Just curious: What are the steps to getting bookings for music gigs?
My husband is part of a music group and I am trying to help them get bookings for gigs in the US and overseas. How do I go about doing this? Is there a certain company I need to call? We don’t want to sign the group to any record label and the group would be very well in the underground world of hip hop. I need to help them get on their feet though with gigs. I have contacted radio stations and online stations to play their music but I haven’t received a response yet. We have also mailed CD’s (they are perfect produced and packaged) to different distribution places. The group is selling many CD’s already on UGHH.com and CDbaby.com. Any other ideas?
My husband has already copyrighted the music and is signed up with ASCAP. We are kind of lost after that but the information given so far is very helpful. I didn’t know about EPKs.
