MQ: What are your top 5 favorite music scenes of all time? If you don’t know what I mean, you’ll be able to figure out after reviewing my list. Here’s my top 10…
these are in no order:
1) The 90’s Japanese psychedelic and noise rock scene, including bands like Acid Mothers Temple, LSD March, Afrirampo, Boredoms, High Rise, ect..
2) The whole east coast modern experimental and electronic scene of groups like Animal Collective, Terrestrial Tones, Panda Bear, Dan Deacon, Automine, ect.. (this may actually be my favorite music scene of all time in general).
3) The mid 80’s-mid 90’s noise rock scene including Butthole Surfers, Scratch Acid, Cows, Jesus Lizard, Killdozer, Flipper, Sonic Youth, ect…
4) The 2000’s math-rock scene of Piglet, Giraffes? Giraffes!, Hella, By the End of Tonight, Volta Do Mar, Bygones, Planets, Tera Melos, ect…
5) The modern rap scene is pretty interesting, it has a specific “look” to it, and it’s hard to explain. I guess you can call it “indie rap” but the whole based movement has actually lifted off to become one of my favorite “styles” (if you can call it that) of music. This whole, “be yourself” and “dont give a sh^t what you think about me” message is becoming more and more popular with mc’s like Lil B and everyone from Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. you know.. the “troll” rappers.
MQ2: R&P doesn’t talk about the production of an album like how the RHH section does. Unlike us they give major credit to the producers and the crisp and clear recordings a lot more often. So in this question, what are your top 20 favorite albums that you would consider to be the most well produced album of that time?

RJ, im not really asking what your favorite genres are…
but your album list is soooo sexy.
but yo, im curious on why you think that Psychic Chasms should be on a list of the most well produced albums of all time. it was pretty lo-fi.
Same with Merzbow’s 1930… pretty simple production if you ask me….
