I am a potential buyer of a house in Bay Area. We signed a Purchase and Sale Agreement with seller. The seller now wants to back off the deal and is threatening to fight it out in the court if i dont back off. This is inspite of having a binding contract. We have a five month old kid and we were in the process of settling down soon. We liked the house so much that it is taking an emotional stress when thinking about backing off. So we do have no intention of backing off. As a buyer what are the best alternatives or the steps that i can take.

it is going to be iffy in court if you havent taken possession yet. i say go for though.
