Q&A: Record Labels…?

Question by termite choking on the splinters: Record Labels…?
i live in central california, and i can’t seem to find any smaller-rostered record labels that will sign an acoustic-alt/indie musician. i’m finding that the more popular labels do not accept demo cds unless they are distributed by a smaller record label. if there are any labels in california you have heard of, that will accept demo cds… where are they, what is the name of the label(s)?? i’m having the time from hell trying to get signed by ANYBODY because i can’t find ONE FREAKING LABEL. this sucks.
just thought i’d ask.
any answer would be appreciated.
🙂 thanks.

i’m sorry, so so sorry, for “calling” myself indie… because you know, i’m like TOTALLY signed with some major label!!! like oh my freaking god!
sweety, i called it indie, because it was independent. I wrote the friggin songs, they WEREN’T recorded in a studio, and I am the one trying to set up my own shows.
it doesn’t mean i’m going to do a Fall Out Boy and try to call myself indie if i get signed. i’m not retarded. please don’t preach to me about indie, because believe me, i am FULLY AWARE of what it is.
by the way, you are still “indie” if you are signed with an independent record company.
get a life. i didn’t ask you for any rude opinions.
