Is it possible to put any music/videos on the !Phone that you have downloaded to your computer, the way you can with the Blackberry and other Smart phones, or will the !Phone only recognize files that are downloaded from !Tunes? I’m asking because I have the Blackberry Storm through Verizon Wireless, and they are soon supposed to be getting the !Phone, so I was thinking of getting the !Phone when it’s time to renew my contract and upgrade my phone, because I’ve heard !Phone has more options for apps, then the Storm does, but all of the music and videos that I have downloaded to my Storm are downloads from Limewire, so I was wondering if any of my files from that will be transferable to the !Phone, or will I just have to re-download them through !Tunes to put them on the !Phone?

You do need to use iTunes to put music into your iPhone, but the music in iTunes doesn’t have to only come from Apple – it could be music you ripped from a CD, downloaded from torrents, bought from Amazon or eMusic, etc. It doesn’t matter where the music came from – as long as it’s in iTunes, you can put it on your iPhone.

If music or videos on your computer aren’t showing up in your iTunes, that’s easy to fix – go to the iTunes file menu and tell it to scan for music.

One last comment – there have been no official announcements about iPhone coming to Verizon; it’s just a lot of rumors. You could always get one of the Droids from Verizon instead of an iPhone; any of them are better than a Blackberry Storm, and the Droid Incredible is better than the iPhone 3GS.
