For production companies that do tv commercials and music videos, do they typically go through ad agencies to get business? Or do more of them get business directly through the clients?

Over the 10 years we have been in a Video Production Company, we have done it both ways. As your companies reputation grows it can start to deal direct with clients but ad agencies are a good “in”. They do however generally insist on issue a production fee which means your profit is capped. Grow you company and become and agency is the secret to success in Video Production.
