Q&A: Manager contract for performer- artist?

Question by recycle b: Manager contract for performer- artist?
I have a friend who is a relatively unknown singer who has a couple of CD albums out. She wants me to manage her career by getting her gigs ( performance jobs) and sell her CD’s.
I have never done this before and she knows that. She knows, it will be time consuming for me. Does anybody have some links to a simple contract that would cover all the important elements that would be necessary to be stated in the contract between her and me?

Do I need some sort of license?

Other than Amazon and Itunes how would I go about selling her CD’s and getting her some gigs.

It is not my idea to be her manager, but she does not trust anyone else.

You should have a contract. Contracts make known what you expect of each other.

CDbaby.com is a good place to sell CDs sometimes. Also, obviously, at gigs.
Look at where other bands in her genre are playing in your town. And call, and make appointments to meet the people that run these venues.
Go to other local band’s shows and ask them how they got their gigs.
