Question by ✖Shiminy Cricket✖: I’ve set my heart on following a career path in the music industry when i’m older…?
I’m incredibly interested in music, not just the listening aspect but the whole production side to it, too.
I’d give anything to be in the music management business when i’m older but have been told by my mother that it’s “a failiure’s job” [or something along those lines] and that she’s not going to allow me to persue it and my careers teacher had told me that it’s pointless following that path because it very unlikely that i’ll get into the business.
I’d love, if possible, to move to America and get involved in it there, even just an indie label [i’m not setting my sights for, like, BMI or Virgin or anything]
Do you think i’m dreaming too high and being unrealistic
? Should i let go and look at a different career?
Or do you think i should keep trying?
I really don’t know whether to give up on the dream or not.
I’m 15 & Live in Wales, UK btw, if that’s any help.
Thanks very much

No how awful of your mother to dampen
your dream. the very least she ccould had
told you to persue for a whie and if it doesn’t
work out at least you tried but it is wrong
not to try at all.
She may be looking out for you but
saying no is not the answer
