Question by Rahlgd: Is Mexico’s Televisa Corporation onsidered a conglomorate?
Televisa which was originally a Mexican State owned and operated Television company but is now privatized and is the largest spanish speaking television company in the world and Mexico’s largest brodcasting corporation. It controls a massive array of varied Fields and owns several other companies of them it owns and controls,
*SKY Latin America – HD Satellite television
*Estadio Azteca – Large football stadium in Mexico city
*Club América – Mexico’s most popular soccer team
*Club Necaxa – Another Major soccer team
*San Luis F.C.- yet another Major soccer team
*Editorial Televisa – Book, newspaper and magazine publishing company
*Televisa Radio – Radio station
*Videocine – Movie production and distribution
*EMI Televisa Music – Record Label
*Televisa Licencias – Mexicos largest merchandising group

*Más Fondos – Investment Group
*Volaris – International airline
*Centro de Educación Artística – Mexicos most prestigious acting school
Televisa also controls 25 television channels in Mexico and 21 channels in europe, asia, south america and the United states.
Would Televisa be considered a conglomorate or a loose collection of similarly owned companies? I have had heated arguments with my Economics teacher over the subject and i want to know other peoples opinions.
