Q&A: is going to the air force for four years then starting in the music business a realistic goal?
Question by wingchunguy: is going to the air force for four years then starting in the music business a realistic goal?
im planning on going to the air force as an e-3 because of rotc for four years after high school. meanwhile my drummer friend will be going to college for music. after my four years is it realistic to jump to music. like building my own studio or starting a band. idk. im confused about what i want to do in general. should i go army and be a cook and open up my own restaraunt afterwards? random but i would like an opinion.thanks.

Why not? You do whatever you want. My husband is also a musician. The AF lifestyle (and all his deployment money, he deploys at least twice a year) ) has allowed us to buy everything for a home studio. We have electronic drums, 3 bass guitars, 6 electric guitars, 2 acoustics, 1 12-strings, keyboard, and an awesome recorder. Everything he needs to make his demo which he is doing whenever he can. You don’t have to stop doing what you love because you are in the military.
