Q&A: If I agreed to a contract online, then found out it was a scam, can I be legally committed to the scam artist?

Question by stormwatch: If I agreed to a contract online, then found out it was a scam, can I be legally committed to the scam artist?
Before doing any research on supposed corporation I signed an attachment; an agreement to work as an employee and emailed it back. When I started getting suspicious, I researched and found the site to be a scam. Now I wonder if I can be held liable by supposed contract to perform the services required as their employee that include illegal activities. Possibly International illegal activities. What if I receive packages on my door-step? Shouldn’t I call the police immediately and give the package to them?

If you believe you have been contacted by somebody who wants you to perform illegal activities, call the police now. Do not wait until a package arrives “on your door-step.”

Contracts to perform illegal activities cannot be enforced. (For example, you can’t sue a drug dealer for failing to provide the illegal drugs you paid for, because the contract was for an illegal activity in the first place.)
