Q&A: i received a music cd from my work, there’s no artist/copyright info. Can I use for a corporate production?
Question by videogirl: i received a music cd from my work, there’s no artist/copyright info. Can I use for a corporate production?
I work at a hospital, but I’m trying to start a video production company. As a free employee appreciation gift, we all received a generic cd with the hospital logo, that’s full of relaxing music. The only thing on the CD is song titles, but nothing else. No artist/band, no info of anysort. Can I consider this “royalty free” music to use in my next production since there is no information given to possibly purchase it?
I work at a hospital, but I’m trying to start a video production company. As a free employee appreciation gift, we all received a cd (that went through professional CD labeling that has “relaxation” printed on it along with the hospital logo.) The insert again has our logo, and “we appreciate our employees” The back of the CD shows song titles, but nothing else. No artist/band, no info of anysort. Can I consider this “royalty free” music to use in my next production since there is no information given to possibly purchase the rights to use in a production?

Go to E-TIP Records (google it) and see if they will give you some music to use. Try to stick the cd in the computer to see if the tracks (properties) have any info. Your hospital could get in more trouble than you.
