Question by CSC78: i pods and the fall of the music industry who agrees with me??
Do kids these day understand what mp3’s have done to the music industry.
When I was a teenager you had a couple options if you wanted to hear and or see a band.
1.) Waited until the album came out.
2.) Waited to see the Video.
3.) Waited for the band to go on tour.
There was excitement and and energy about music. Now it’s as easy to access as glass of water from your kitchen sink. Kids have so many options YouTube is the new concert, Itunes are the new single, and forget about selling whole albums whats the point. As a muscian I see no future for bands and artist. I don’t own an mp3 player but if I decide to buy one I will only put cd’s I have bought on it. I like the physical contact of a record/CD and reading the liner notes. I mean something has been lost and kids these days have no idea what damages the mp3 has done to the music industry it’s practicly in ruins.
Sad
The decline
Mp3’s will never the the audio quality of Cd’s and Cd’s will never have the audio quality of records.
We are moving backwards not forward!
Ask any studio owner if the record industry is in a good place.
Quilty of music was better in the past.
there will never be another
sun records
rolling stones
the who
Guns n Roses
sex pistols
ramones etc etc etc etc
Working for years as a muscian and selling and being around muscians and meeting some of the most repected people in the industry I must say the industry is in bad shape. The comsumers are fine the industry is falling. Do you know what it take to survive in the indusrty it’s harder then it has ever been and mp3’s are one of the main causes. If you don’t believe that the you all are out of touch.
