Google a site called ” ‘Lectric Law Library.” I’ve been writing contracts for the last five years, much of it based on the research done on that site and several others.
They don’t take themselves very seriously, but they do offer lots of help on all kinds of legal questions. They also have a huge library of sample contracts you can use to base your particular needs on. Remember, these are VERY generic in nature, so you will have to do some additional research, on your own, to make sure your version fits within the framework of you own state’s laws.
Also, much of my research has indicated that the courts, when adjudicating contract conflicts, are showing more of a tendency to favor “plain language” formats. A well written contract is just as binding, even if not drawn out in “legalese.”
Have fun!
