Q&A: How do you get involved in the music industry and record deals?

Question by MSUfan5767: How do you get involved in the music industry and record deals?
I’m a musician trying to get noticed. I play guitar and sing in the rock/alternative style, and love dancing, singing, acting, and all sorts of things like that. I would love to make a career out of playing and singing. However, I know nothing about the music or recording industry. How do I even get started? Who do I talk to to listen to what I have? Thanks so much!
