Q&A: how do people get signed to record labels?
Published November 13, 2010
Question by Andrea: how do people get signed to record labels?
Some singers and rappers arent that great, so how do they end up getting signed. Do they have to have catchy songs or do they just make their agent send out their demo tape to all of the major record labels?

Yeah mostly they just send sample songs and if the producer likes it, then they’ll listen to them some more. And then if they still like em’, they write up a contract. As they keep getting better, they’ll get offers from bigger record companies, and therefore well get more money, and more popular.
