Look on the packaging of the recording you are interested in. Somewhere in the very fine print you should find a mailing address or an e-mail address for the music publisher. Write to that publisher, explaining your request and asking who you need to contact for permission to use the music. Someone will probably get back to you with the exact contact person’s name and address in the company. Then contact that person and ask your questions. They will tell you exactly what to do, what forms to fill out, what it will cost, exactly how you may use the music, and answer any specific questions you have.
