no…radio stations are now pretty much programmed by consultants who do ‘research’ and ‘advise’ stations what bands to play based on the station’s format…
even the announcers no longer have any leeway to go outside the palylists in order to break new talent; although college stations can still play stuff not heard on mainstream radio…
