Q&A: can I get out of my purchase agreement contract if I find out that the house is in a flood zone?

Question by velynch v: can I get out of my purchase agreement contract if I find out that the house is in a flood zone?
In the contract, they didn’t know it was in a flood zone but FEMA included the property last year. As far as I knew, it wasn’t in a flood zone when I signed the contract. Can I get out of the contract and get my money back?

Most likely, yes, because it was not disclosed. Your best bet, however, is to ask a real estate attorney in your area.
