Music Management – How too manage?
Question by kaznmolly: Music Management – How too manage?
I am currently managing several singers, friends who are in the industry and have all asked me to manage them – I do not want to act like I do not know what I am doing however, would like to know others opinions as I am new to this.
I would like some ideas on the best ways to market my singers to clubs and bars, and the best way to advertise them at a lower budget as I am obviously a new manager.
Look forward to your thoughts.

If you’re new it might be best to just manage a couple groups/acts at a time for little to no charge just to get your bearings.
Have they recorded a demo yet? It’s going to be very difficult to advertise them and get gigs without at least a couple songs recorded.
Other than that you just need to be confident in yourself and them and be professional. And always e-mail or call the place to let them know you would like to come by and talk to them about setting up a show, don’t just show up randomly, it will make you look unprofessional.
Try setting up a website as well if you have multiple acts. A my-space will work but a domain/website devoted to your acts will look better and stand out.
