Linux with VMWARE Beryl XGL 3d Desktop – Music by Battles
Forgive the choppyness, unfortunately my capture software and re-encoding didnt do this justice. I dont think any video will do this laptop/GUI interface justice though… This is my current Linux Box running Dream Linux and utilizing the XGL libraries for a TRUE 3D Desktop. I am running Beryl and XFCE for window management. I was originally dual booting windows XP, but why boot into windows XP when I can run VMWARE? So I setup the PC to run my TRUE WindowsXP install (on my other partition) through VMWARE player or workstation. This allows me the choice of booting to Windows XP, Linux, or booting Linux and running my XP install from inside. This is NOT a VMWARE disk copy of XP, this is the ACTUAL XP running from my other partition fully loaded with apps. Why waste space with a duplicate XP installed into a VMDisk when you can run the REAL thing? :o) Took me a little while to set this up (all day on the weekend) but well worth it. Soundtrack is a song by the band “battles” www.theblackpacket.com
