Question by heatherxhazard: Let’s say you’ve majored in Music Management/Merchandising…?
I know that possible career paths could be managing a record label, or individual artists. But, could you also consider a career in working for a music television network such as Fuse or MTV…or even a music magazine (Alternative Press, Spin)?
thank you so much!

Ok lets see…
I’m a music major and I want to warn you…If you are still in HS, you still have time to think. If music is in your major, you are going to have to audition for the Dept. I go to school with many of them and they had to be able to sing or play an instrument for a judge in order to get in… (just so ya know)
The answer to your question:
You could very well have a job like that. I go to school with a girl who is making insane money by managing ringtones by artists! Your listed jobs are highly competitive. If you go to the right school, they let you intern in these types of places though.
Also, the coursework is very tight. My freshman year in 1 semester I had to take 8 music classes and 3 gen Ed courses. Do summer classes to lighten your load. I did and it allowed me to go on to the next level when I got there in the fall and let me lounge later on.
Best of luck
