Legitimate business or people trafficking?
Question by Lynn: Legitimate business or people trafficking?
My 22 year old daughter is attempting to enter into the music industry via a car salesman in Harrisburg, Pa. …I live in Tennessee. This man said to her that he’s some kind of music promoter. He has promised her a new wardrobe, a portfolio and a passport. Although he has heard her sing he hasn’t even recorded her voice yet!! My husband worked with people in the music business for 14 years and he has never heard of a promoter doing it in this way before. We believe he is a people trafficker and is using the “music studio” as a lure. We advised our daughter, but she is very independent, she wants to do this on her own. I have done a little research on the photographer and wardrobe person that my daughter said he was going to use. The photographer specializes in erotic photography and the wardrobe person is primarily a house music groupie. My father in law suggested I contact the local authorities in Harrisburg and ask if they are aware of his activities or if they could verify that this guy is legit. I’m worried for my daughter, please help with any advise you can give..

Do what your father in law says, call the cops. But after that, its up to your daughter. Show her your evidence, but then let her make the decision. Best of luck
