Sometime in the early 1820s, a man named Georgious Jung emigrated from Baden Wurtemburg, Germany, to the community of Langford in western New York State. Here he purchased a modest farm and, along with his wife Katherina, raised seven children. The middle child, born in 1854, was named Alexander, and about that time their name was changed to Young.
