Is it worth me upgrading to an iPhone?
Question by Hyper: Is it worth me upgrading to an iPhone?
My phone contract has just come up for renewal and I’ve been offered an iPhone 3GS – 8gb free of charge on my current contract. At present I have a Nokia 5800 xpress music which, apart from a few minor niggles, is a pretty good phone especially when it comes to playing music and video. If I go for the iPhone I will have to take the contract for 24 months which I’m hesitant to do.
Some of my friends have this model iPhone and have let me have a go on it. Although its functions and Apps are impressive I can’t put my hand on my heart and say I’m blown away by it. However I do accept I haven’t fully tested it.
I have found that some who have the iPhone point blank refuse to accept it has any faults and think it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. What I would really like is some unbiased advice from those who have the iPhone but aren’t blinded by its status. Specifically what are the Pro’s and Con’s and put simply is it worth me upgrading to it?
Any advice is much appreciated.

The question isn’t whether it is ‘worth it’, that is very subjective. The question you have to ask yourself is if it is worth it to you. You sound like are are on the fence and are about ready to give in, you just need someone to push you in that direction.
I rarely use my iPhone for apps or games any longer, as I find them boring or useless. However, the iPod functionality on even the 8 gig model, the quick text messages I am able to type, and the organization is highly improved over my previous non-smartphone.
