It will depend largle if you are a nonprofit comany or not. Most foundations only give to nonprofits. The best place to look for grants is the Foundation Center at http://www.fdncenter.org

As far as writing grants the Center offers courses and material to help you. They tour cities across the US giving seminars. You will pay to use their database, but you won’t find a better, more legitimate source
