Is it possible to change the individual employment agreement contract after both the parties have signed?

Question by saintedtrilok: Is it possible to change the individual employment agreement contract after both the parties have signed?
This is my first job and its been almost two months now. Its a marketing and sales job, so I do have to travel at times. However I only get my expenses reimburshed, I dont get any extra travel allowance. Also the contract did not have any bonus section. I do get some comissions, but its not that great. I dont know how to approach my employer. He is a nice guy and as this a family business, he treats me as part of the family. How do I tell him without offending him?

Easy one;

Your employer will have a review scheme. Work your arse off, prove that your worth it. Then when you have a review tell them what you would like.

If you dont have a review, set a date in your head when you will start, work your arse off for 6 months, keep a little log book of your own of exceptional things you have done. Request a meeting with the manager and just say you were wanting to talk about your rate of pay or bonuses. Sell yourself off your own record and see what he thinks. If he says know ask him for tips on how to improve your performance. If he is no help then consider lookign elsewhere

If he does give you some helpful points then work at them, keep another log, 3 months later discuss it with him again. Mention all the points you have fixed from when you last talked, ensure you keep up with all the excellent jobs you did before.

If he says no look elsewhere for work, ensure that you don’t have a go at him at any stage. When you hand in your notice make sure you say you were looking to move on and after more money and you know that the company cann’t really afford to do it but you need the extra.

He may make an offer or may not, but if he doesnt at least he will give you a decent reference.
