A work for hire contract is not necessary when you go into a studio to record material. Be sure to go to a well respected professional recording studio that you can trust. If you do not feel comfortable in any way when at the recording studio, you should leave immediately. Your material should be copy written with the library of congress. http://www.copyright.gov/forms/
