In need of a sample contract for a drywall subcontractor.?
Question by lavadasproul: In need of a sample contract for a drywall subcontractor.?
Hi, A friend who is a drywall hanger has got a large job and will be hanging drywall and charging by the foot. He was asking me to help him type up a contract. I really don’t even know where to start. I am assuming it would be similar to any subcontractor type contrat. We are needing something very simple. I have tryed a lot of online sites, but they want to charge like 30.00 for a contract that you can’t even read first. Anybody, Somebody. HELP!

You can do this. If the owners of the project are honest, no contract is necessary. If they are weasels, doesn’t matter what contract you used, they won’t pay.
Just get a white piece of paper and keep it short. He will be charging ___per linear foot at a height of 8 feet. He will tape and texture to the specifications that he provides or that are provided by the owner. Will he paint? (probably not but you could offer). What time frames for completion? When and how will he be paid? make it clear that work will not continue after a “non-payment” or a bounced check. Will he be providing his own insurance for tort and workmen’s comp? Will he have a bond? What will he be paid if work is stopped for a reason not of his making? (if anything). How much advance notice does he require for changes of design? What time of day will be the earliest he will be on the job? The latest? What is the charge for 6 straight days? 8 days? Or is it the same as if it were Mon-Fri.
After you do your first job with this handmade contract, you will add 2 or 22 things. And you will add a again after every job. Then you will offer to sell copies of your “contract” for $ 25 online and sell thousands./
