If you and bandmates became really successful, would you sign with a record label?

Question by million$?: If you and bandmates became really successful, would you sign with a record label?
i thought about this on the way home yesterday…say you were in a band, and you played local shows. People respond to you and really dig your music..then you start expanding the areas in which you play shows…pretty soon, you travel nationwide to play and you have a following. Then, you get label companies offering you recording contracts. Would you sign? Or would you continue playing shows nationwide, getting fame and recognition that way? Really think about it, don’t just think about all the millions of dollars you would make from signing..think of pros and cons on the matter. All opinions welcome!!!

well I would sign, but with a little(r) label. They seem to care more about their talent, and at the end of the day, I wouldn’t want to be Nickelback.
