I want to record music from my bedroom?

Question by Keshav: I want to record music from my bedroom?
I have been a producer for quite a while now, so I think it is the time to start recording my own vocals from home.

I am getting a:

Samsom G Track USB MIC with a POP filter

Recommend me a good sound card ( as I am aware of the fact that one’s built in the lap top suck)

Recommend to me what is the best software for vocal recording as well (don’t give me audicity that also sucks, recommend something expensive and tell me what is the best out of cubase/ logic pro etc)

I’m not really looking into recording instruments at the moment, i’m looking into just my vocal recording over a beat

Also i’m really confused when it comes to sound cards and interfaces and all that so please explain in intricate detail, thankyou!

Keyshav, I just answered all these questions for Nick B. SOUNDCARD: SOUNDBLASTER PLATINUM PRO. Good speakers (You’ll need them) Try ALTEC LANSING. Recording(Studio) program: CAKEWALK. You’ll need a $ 20.00 set of LARGE headphones, a $ 30 mike from electronics store. Go to music shop(where they sell instruments) and order a headphone amp ($ 70) and a mike amp ($ 70). You’ll NEED them! DONT BUY THE EQUIPMENT YOU LISTED ABOVE you wont NEED it once you have the cakewalk programme and you’ll be **** that you bought it and wasted your money. Also, if you buy the sound card above, there’s a recording studio programme included as a bonus(Cubasis) so then you wont have to buy cakewalk. (If you want more details go to NICK B’s question and see the answer I wrote for him) Best of luck. Cat.
