i need a clause for my business to put on contracts insuring my payment if client files bankruptcy any ideas?
Question by bekkah8065: i need a clause for my business to put on contracts insuring my payment if client files bankruptcy any ideas?
I have a plumbing and heating business and have had several customers who have filed bankruptcy and I have lost a lot of money, I am trying to find a legal clause that I can put on my contracts to have the customer sign that ensures payment even under bankruptcy. I am trying not to contact an attorney as that costs so much money so if anyone has any ideas where i can find this clause or how I could legally write my own, i would appreciate it.

Such contract wording would be meaningless, the Court decides (using the law) who gets paid and who doesn’t in the case of bankruptcy.
You CAN check the credit scores of potential customers (for a fee), and only do business with people who can afford to pay their bills!
