I have a few questions about the music business.. help?
Question by Animals <3: I have a few questions about the music business.. help?
I’m not planning on wasting any ones time and I’m GOING to make it to the top but.. I need some help along the way.
My first few questions: What exactly needs to be on a demo? My OWN songs, some songs all ready made, or both? Does it NEED music or can I just sing it?
Also, do people actually listen to the demos you send? Or is it a waste of time?
Next: Who exactly do I send it to? A record label or a recording studio or something I dont know about?
Any answers would help!
Thanks!

Ironically, the people who do make it to the top are the ones self-sufficient enough to not “need” help along the way. That’s the absolute truth, the driving force behind the greatest talents had nothing to do to interdependency, it had to do with independence. Thank about that, it will help you on your journey to the top.
Your song must be in the demo, it needs music and singing. Some recording companies listen, some simply send out scouts to open mics while not accepting demos.
Send it to recording labels that accept them.
