I Care (Rachelle Ann Go)

Album: I care Artist: Rachelle Ann Go Release on Label: VIVA Records Composer: Rachelle Ann Go They did it once with Sarah Geronimo. Now, Search For A Star winner Rachelle Ann Go will be given the full build-up by Viva, which is preparing to launch her as its newest star. Rachelle, 17, bested nine other grand finalists last March 13 to take home the house and lot package and the P1 million grand prize. A freshman college student at San Beda, Rachelle says winning came as a complete surprise, even if the other contestants named her one of their top choices to win the grand finals. “I wasn’t really expecting to win,” says Rachelle, whose slim and petite build belies the power in her voice. “But I’m happy that I did, because I’ve always dreamed of becoming a singer, and now, I have a chance to make my dreams come true.” Rachelle and her parents (who have been very supportive of her from the beginning) are most excited over the breaks that are coming her way. She realizes, however, that this is just the beginning and that a lot of hard work is still ahead of her. She knew that even before she joined the contest, says Rachelle. According to Veronique del Rosario-Corpus, head of the Viva Artists Agency which will be managing the Search For A Star winners, it wasn’t just Rachelle’s voice that won her the title. Aside from voice quality, the judges were looking for that all-important star appeal, or the “x-factor”. Like Sarah Geronimo, they wanted someone who could not only sing
