I would like to pursue a career somewhere in the music business (record label?). but i do not know anything about different positions in a record label or anything. i am not an artist or performer so don’t give me advice about sending in mix tapes or anything. i just need maybe a short explanation of different jobs within a record label , and what kind of major would i take to pursue a career in one of those fields. Maybe a website(s) giving me information? It would be nice if i could get an answer from someone in the music business.

if you want to work at a label, start calling and getting info from labels about getting an internship. going to school isn’t needed.
