I am selling a car in CA, I have the DMV bill of sale and liability form, do I need a contract as well?
Question by doubt133: I am selling a car in CA, I have the DMV bill of sale and liability form, do I need a contract as well?
Do I also need a contract stating the car is ‘as is’?
I have:
The title
Release of Liability (DMV form)
Bill of Sale (DMV form)
I just read the car needs to be smogged before I sell it so I guess I need the smog certificate as well…

“You will always need:
* California Certificate of Title or Application for Duplicate Title (REG 227)
* Signature(s) of seller(s) and lienholder, if any
* Signature(s) of buyer(s)
* Transfer fee
You may also need:
* Smog certification
* Use tax and/or various other fees
* Additional documentation”
Good luck!
