Question by Guitarguy6: How to I develop a business plan for a recording studio/label/and store?
I’m only 18 and I just started college[gonna have an associates in business; and a bachelor in Music: Business with a minor in Marketing if my school allows that.]
I don’t plan on doing this right out of school but yeah, I wan’t to get a general idea on how to do it so i can get an outlook on it.
Plans:
I wan’t to have a recording studio that I also run as an indie label, and also own a music store where i can sell major cds, but also distribute the indie records i’d be producing.
I know its gonna take a lot of hard work and money, and unless i win the lottery it won’t happen for many years but I wan’t to know how to get a business plan going.
Thanks,

I’m in the process of creating a nonprofit corporation and have read a really good book on this subject. The title is “Bankable Business Plans” by Edward G. Rogoff. It’s good. It will tell you exactly what a top-notch business plan should have in it and also where to research and find good information to back up your numbers and plans.
I recommend it highly. Check it out for yourself:

By the way, the money to fund a new business doesn’t have to come totally or even partially from you, although it’s easier to get money from others if they know the person responsible for the success of the business has a financial stake in the game.
That’s another educational subject Amazon.com books can help you with.
Good luck. 🙂
