how to get started at being a being DJ or other jobs that involve music?

Question by Matt: how to get started at being a being DJ or other jobs that involve music?
like a producer too.i love music and listening to it,but i never enjoyed playing instruments,i think it would be cool to get into soundboards and all that.any ideas on how to get started?

Starting up as a DJ isn’t too hard. I’d suggest you get some used turntables/cdjs off of ebay. If you go with turntables make sure they’re direct drive! (Very Important). You’ll probably want to start off with a simple 2 channel mixer. If you do go with turntables you probably won’t have any records but you can get Scratch Live/Traktor/VirtualDJ. All of those are software that provide a timecode record so that you can play music from your computer ;). Then just youtube some videos on beatmatching and blending and then develop your own style!
