Question by Sandra: How old do you have to be to get a business license in the state of Florida?
Hi I’m 15 and I am trying to find out if I can get a business license at my age. I’m trying to make a video/music production company. I have been interested in film for quite a while now and i realy want to do something about it.

Generally you have to be 18 in almost every state because you can’t legally sign most agreements until you’re a legal adult. This means that your signature on contracts, leases, bank accounts, etc doesn’t mean much.

If you want, check with your local jurisdiction about getting a “Registered Agent” that can serve this purpose. Generally you can get a lawyer who will do this for a few hundred/year *or* an adult like a parent, etc.
