Question by K Savage: How can I get in contact with a major label company?
Lets say if I have a good song recorded and stuff. How can I get in contact with a major label company? Why do you need to be signed with a record company anyways? Will they protect you, or pay for some things with a contract?

A record label is your foot in the door. Without which, one would find incredibly hard to progress with a music career. They negotiate on your behalf to ensure you get the best possible deal. After all, the best deal for you means they can take a larger commission and fee.
Major record labels such as Sony Music and its subsidiaries, receive literally thousands of submissions every week. Artists must find increasingly innovative ways of having their work noticed by scouts and managers, Take Justin Bieber for example, who submitted videos of himself to YouTube. Subsequently, this was how he was discovered. As annoying as he is, today he is known the world over with millions of fans and a net-worth in the eight or nine figures.
