How can I find out if my contractor is bonded?

He stated that he was bonded, but now after poor performance of the contract, he will not provide proof.

He is required by law to show documentation.
I’d contact the better business bureau and see if
he is listed or has a complaint against him.
Worse comes to worse, if you have a contract – show it
to an attorney and take action.
