The official music video from the x-factor featuring all the finalists singing Hero with Mariah Carey looks like government propaganda to me. It is a pretty blatant example and I felt it demanded a more realistic response. I wrote a book called ‘Posters and Propaganda in Wartime’ about the posters that the government used, particularly to encourage people to enlist in the first world war, and nothing compares to this multimedia bombardment. I have no idea whether the people involved were fully aware of what they were doing, but as medialens.org, Chomsky and others explains in detail, the people who propagate the myth of the liberal media often have no idea of the role they are playing. I have simply re-edited the video to show the other side of war. The invasion of Iraq was illegal was not sanctioned by international law. One of the crucial questions that has still not been answered is – What happened between 7 March 2003 and a week later for Lord Goldsmith to change his legal opinion from a 20 page document concluding that war was illegal to a one page summary concluding the opposite? This was crucial otherwise the leaders of the armed forces would not have let their men into the war.
