Does anyone know which record labels accept unsolicited demos?

Question by Gymnastics girl 09: Does anyone know which record labels accept unsolicited demos?
I write songs and play guitar like Taylor Swift, just minus the country part:) I have already googled record labels, and it only gave me big time labels. Are there any small places in New York that would accept an unsolicited demo cd? Specific names would be awesome…thank you so much!

None of them do, it’s too risky. Best thing to do would be ‘solicit’ the demo before hand via a manager or by meeting a rep somewhere.

Record labels are a waste of space anyway. Make your own music and sell it independantly.
