Does any online music company sell unprotected MP3 files?

Question by Mr.Brightside: Does any online music company sell unprotected MP3 files?
I have realized the troubles of DRM while attempting to convert my music library from iTunes to Windows Media Player, realizing this would be difficult without a DRM removing software or without using the burn&rip method (with cds) I have decided to plan ahead. I have recently purchased a Sony Walkman S Series (irrelevant) and would like to know which source I should purchase my music from in the future. i hear Napster also sells protected music. I still want to obtain music legally online but I want to be able to transfer it just as easily. Are there any online stores that sell music files without locks/restrictions? If not, do y’all have any better ideas? (oh! and Merry Christmas!)

I don’t know how iTunes works but if you buy music from the Zune marketplace it is in MP3 format. All their subscription music is WMA but if you use your song credit to get one of your 10 monthly free songs then it will be converted automatically to MP3. You can also buy them with MS Points.
