Question by Jägermeister: Does an olympic performance affect the way a team will look at the player in the NHL?
For example I was reading on TFP today that Evgeni Nabokov’s contract extension talk haven’t even started. Do you think his olympic performance will change what they believe? I realize his playoff performance has a lot to do with it too but yesterday was a big game and we saw how Nabokov reacted.

This also goes for any player currently not in the NHL or in the final year of their contract.

Although Olympic performance has had an impact on the draft status of a player, I think it will have less impact on a player already in the NHL at contract renewal time.
