Do you feel that American Idol and other singing competitions as such are unfair to real music artists?

Question by Y!Questioner: Do you feel that American Idol and other singing competitions as such are unfair to real music artists?
Real artists hope to make their own music, cut their own albums. They don’t necessarily want all the fame and glory or million dollar contracts. They care about their fans, the people who relate to their music, not necessarily what the people want to hear or what will play on the radio or what they’re told to sing. I think many of these shows are reality tv at best. What’s your view?

No, shows like Idol help young artists.
